Hawaii Custom Shirts was born out of a simple idea: make custom apparel ordering easy, transparent, and local. We originally began in the early 2000s as a distributor of promotional products, working with hundreds of suppliers across the U.S. and Asia. From pens and bags to drinkware and tech accessories, we helped our clients put their brand on just about anything. But one part of our business has always stayed close to home — apparel decoration.

While blank garments often come from the mainland, nearly all of our screen printing and embroidery work is done right here in Hawai‘i. That local connection is something we’re proud of, and it’s one of the reasons we launched Hawaii Custom Shirts.

When we started searching for consistent, high-quality printing and embroidery partners locally, we realized there was a real gap in the industry: pricing was unclear, websites lacked basic info, and quotes could vary widely from order to order. This made it hard for us — and our clients — to plan ahead and order with confidence.

We knew there had to be a better way.

Our goal was to create an online experience where ordering custom shirts is as simple and straightforward as buying a photo gift on Shutterfly: choose your product, upload your design, enter your details, and you're done — no hidden fees, no back-and-forth, no surprises.

And as anyone in Hawai‘i knows, shipping is often the biggest surprise of all. Too many times, we’ve added items to our cart only to find that shipping to the islands costs more than the products themselves. That’s why we built our pricing to be upfront and all-inclusive. What you see is what you get — no last-minute add-ons or inflated shipping fees at checkout.
